Whistler

Living in Whistler means that you get to enjoy the incredible world-renowned attractions on offer all of the time! It also means that you get to see a side to the resort that not many do.

From the many events and festivals that come to town, to witnessing the seasons as they change, there is so much more to Whistler below the surface. For those who make the move to Whistler it not only becomes a change of scenery, but a change of lifestyle.

Changing your routine

The first thing that those coming to Whistler notice is a distinct change in routine. If you normally visit on the weekends during the winter, then prepare yourself for excitement of mid-week, crowd-free skiing!

Locals tend to shy away from the mountain on the weekend as the city crowds descend on the area, but come Monday morning you will find them enjoying the powder with relative freedom!

It is also fairly commonplace for local businesses to give the morning off should there be more than 20 centimetres of snow overnight!

Getting outside

When you move to Whistler you will find that your life becomes outdoors. With the sheer amount of activities on offer you will want to try everything. There is so much more than just skiing and snowboarding.

The summer sees the mountain transform into a hikers paradise, not to mention the fact that it is home to arguably the best mountain bike park in the world!

There are too many year-round activities in Whistler to list, but put it this way – your days inside are over!

Becoming a part of the community

Whistler has one of the most welcoming and friendly communities there is. Everyone who stays for an extended period of time, be it seasonaires, long-time locals, or those raised here, becomes an integral part of the community.

You will see familiar faces everywhere and there is always time to stop and catch up. The community truly makes Whistler what it is and within your first weeks of moving you will have made friends for life!

Enjoying the off-season

There is a secret amongst locals regarding the off-season (also known as Shoulder Season) in Whistler, and that is that it is amazing!

During the spring and the fall as the town begins its transition from winter to summer and summer to winter, there are little to no crowds. The village is quiet and there is still so much to do! Not only that but in order to make up for fewer customers, the restaurants offer incredible deals allowing locals to enjoy the plethora of fine-dining options for a fraction of the price.

All of that makes off-season one of the favourite times for Whistler locals.

So there you have it, living in Whistler year-round is as amazing as you could have imagined. But what’s the use in imagining, why not experience it for yourself!? If you are currently considering making the move, get in touch with one of our agents today!
