Whistler North

Past, Present and Future

Whistler Centre

Imagine your senses awakening as the pink and red hues of alpenglow reflect off the snow-blanketed peak of Wedge Mountain at dusk. Or breathing in the crisp mountain air as you hike your way to the top of the world among giant Douglas firs and hemlocks. Or marveling at the sight of more stars than you’ve ever seen in the darkest night skies.

Winding your way north from Whistler Village, you’ll find the neighbourhoods of White Gold, Spruce Grove, Alpine Meadows and Emerald Estates. These subdivisions form Whistler North. Characterized by extensive green space, these neighbourhoods boast seemingly endless hiking and biking trails, a world-class golf course, cross-country ski trails, pristine mountain lakes and some of the most magnificent mountain peaks for you to explore.

White Gold is one of Whistler’s oldest communities, reflected by nostalgic street names such as Toni Sailer Lane, which pays homage to the first ski racer to win all three alpine events (downhill, slalom, and giant slalom) in the 1956 Olympic Winter Games. Homes consist of single family detached houses, pensions and bed and breakfasts. The groomed cross-country ski trails of Lost Lake are just a stone’s throw from any at doorstep in this neighbourhood.

The area’s newest development, Fitzsimmons Walk, is an intimate community of only 41 attached chalet residences adjacent to beautiful Fitzsimmons Creek and is scheduled for completion in 2008/2009.

“Alpine Meadows offers a harmonious blend of Whistler’s past, present and future…”

The family-oriented Spruce Grove subdivision is home to baseball fields and the community greenhouse project and also offers a mixture of employee housing, townhomes, duplexes, single family homes as well as luxury properties, all within walking distance to Whistler Village.

Alpine Meadows offers a harmonious blend of Whistler’s past, present and future with a combination of townhomes, traditional ski cabins and modern mountain homes. A five-minute drive north of the Village, this area offers spectacular views of Armchair, Rainbow, Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Whistler’s secondary school and the Meadow Park Sports Centre are located here.

Furthest north, the residential neighbourhood of Emerald Estates is named after the jewelled colour of Green Lake and offers stunning views of Wedge and Armchair mountains. Some properties have waterfront access. Residents enjoy the children’s playground, public tennis courts and seemingly endless hiking, biking and snowshoe trails.
