Whistler South
Gateway to Whistler
Whistler South marks the gateway to Canada’s only Resort Municipality, and is comprised of a mixture of new and old neighbourhoods offering everything from commercial and industrial use to single family homes, employee housing and exclusive condos. The most southerly neighbourhood, Function Junction, is known primarily as Whistler’s industrial centre offering an array of professional services. But the area has also expanded to include funky cafes, galleries and specialty shops.
Further north and just a few minutes’ drive from the Creekside base, the new Spring Creek subdivision includes a firehall, townhomes and single family residences. Employee housing and an elementary school make this a popular area for families.
Millar’s Pond and Bayshores are also family friendly, and located just a short distance to Creekside. Townhomes, duplexes, employee housing and single family residences attract families looking for a piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the main Village. Hop on the Valley Trail here for a quick 15-minute walk to shops, restaurants or the Creekside gondola.
Whistler Creek is the original town site for folks who remember “the good old days”. Now this recently refurbished neighbourhood is poised to be a host venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games alpine skiing events.

Creekside also boasts Whistler’s first and only five-star waterfront hotel, Nita Lake Lodge. Dining options include old favourites, Dusty’s Bar & Grill and Hoz’s Pub, but recent additions to the roster include Zen Sushi and Morgan’s — Whistler’s only certified organic eatery. Amenities such as a grocery and liquor store, coffee shops, retail and an internet cafe provide everything you need for an extended stay.
From Whistler Creek, there are multiple access points to the paved Valley Trail system which leads you to the many parks, lakes, mountain bike trails and golf courses in the area.
A variety of housing options are found here. A mixture of original rustic cabins rest alongside the more luxurious homes of today. Single family homes, duplexes, townhomes, timeshares and employee housing units are all available, some with ski-in/ski-out access.
Creekside is home to several exclusive neighbourhoods, including the prestigious Kadenwood subdivision, Canada’s first and only resort neighbourhood with its own dedicated gondola service. Bear Creek offers spectacular views across the Valley and has ski-in access from Whistler Mountain.
Moving toward Whistler Village from Creekside, one will find the neighbourhood of Nordic. Within this area is the luxurious community of Taluswood, with exquisitely designed townhomes, duplex and single family residences constructed on the south side of Whistler Mountain and overlooking the Valley.
Area Highlights
Whistler Interpretive Forest
Across the highway from Function Junction is the extensive road and trail network of Whistler's Interpretive Forest, a self-guided route with opportunities for nature appreciation in all seasons. Just three kilometres from the entrance on the River Trail, a suspension bridge crosses the Cheakamus Gorge – definitely worth the walk!
Bungee Jumping
Located just south of Function Junction, bungee jumping is a popular year-round adrenalin rush. Nestled between old growth forests and rugged basalt column cliffs, you'll feel the exhilaration of jumping from a 53-metre bridge spanning the glacier-fed Cheakamus River.
