July 19, 2018
Al Mattson

Q: Why did you move to Whistler?

A: Like so many old timers, I moved here for one winter to ski. Little did I know that I would still be here 37 years later!

Q: What did you do when you first arrived?

A: I was the first bartender at Tapley’s Pub.

Q: When did you get into Real Estate?

A: I started selling Real Estate in 1990.

Q: What do you enjoy about the lifestyle here?

A: We love the 4 seasons, especially summer.

Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to buy property here?

A: Determine your priorities, and find an experienced realtor to work with.

Q: What is your favourite thing about working with your clients?

A: I have so many clients that have become really good friends over the years. It’s great to watch their families grow up.

Q: What is your favourite season and why?

A: Summer, nothing beats camping at the lake, paddling, fly-fishing, playing with our dog.

Q: If you were not a real estate agent, what would you be?

A: Definitely a fly-fishing guide.

Q: What makes you smile the most?

A: Looking out at the view every morning, and knowing how lucky we are to live here.

Q: How do you decompress or how would you spend your ideal day?

A: At the lake, with my wife and dog, chilling.

Q: What accomplishment do you consider to be the most significant in your career or in your life?

A: Meeting my wife at Tapley’s Pub, which has guided my life since then.

Q: Finally, in one sentence, why should people come live here?

A: Because there is no other place like Whistler.
