Erin McCardle Stiel

Q: Why did you move to Whistler?

A: I’m originally from Prince Edward Island but moved to Florida to play tennis. At the time my sister was living in Lake Louise so I moved there, before making the move to Whistler in 1992. I just wanted to get further west and experience the opportunities Whistler had to offer.

Q: What did you do when you first arrived in Whistler?

A: I was a liftie and then worked in construction, and I was also a snowmobile guide at one point!

Q: When did you get into real estate?

A: I first got into real estate in 2003. We had recently finished building our own house and I’d always had an interest in architecture and homes, which really got me involved in the first place. But after that it was really the relationships that did it.

Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to buy in Whistler?

A: Buy for the lifestyle. If you’re looking for a lifestyle change and you’re thinking about moving to Whistler, then this is the perfect place to do that.

Q: What is your favourite thing about working with your clients?

A: It’s the relationship that’s built through the whole transition. And it’s ultimately about finding what they’re seeking and being able to work together towards that goal.

Q: What is your favourite season and why?

A: I like the changing seasons. That moment when the seasons change, and you’re always excited for the next season!

Q: What makes you smile the most?

A: My kids, for sure!

Q: What was it like raising a family here?

A: We live just outside of Pemberton and built our home there. I just feel privileged to live here – it’s the most incredible backyard for them to grow up in. They make use of it to the fullest!

Q: What do you think you would be if you weren’t a Realtor?

A: There are probably a few different things. But I think something where I’m helping people. I always thought that if I didn’t have children I would want to travel to other countries where they needed help and work there.

Q: How do you decompress?

A: Being back at our property in the hot tub!

Q: What accomplishment do you consider to be the most significant in your life?

A: My children!

Q: Finally, in one sentence, why should people come to live here?

A: For the quality of lifestyle, with the emphasis on quality.
