Cocktail bars in Whistler. Say that five times fast. Okay, now that it’s sunk in – does it get any better than that? Nope! Whistler is known for many world-class things; skiing, mountain biking, hiking, eating and of course, partying. But where is the best place to sit back, relax and enjoy a state-of-the-art cocktail? We’ve got a few places up our sleeves that we think will do just the trick!
Are you after a sweet and spicy drink? Or how about a bitter and smoky cocktail? Perhaps you’d like a classic bourbon with a twist of Canadian maple and bacon flavour? You’ll find it here in Bar Oso. Each drink is made to perfection with complimenting tastes, flavours, and scents – all while pushing the boundaries of your wildest drink dreams. We love their long list of Gin and Tonics and their extensive list of share plates.

If it’s delicious drinks with a cozy seating patio accompanied by great people watching you’re after – look no further. Technically speaking Basalt is also marketed as a wine and salumeria, so if you’re a wine connoisseur you’ll be happy at home here. Many of their cocktails dabble with wine simple syrups (something you didn’t know you needed in your life until you tried it). We particularly love some of the fun names they have, like ‘Granny Got a Gun’ or ‘Ginger Donkey’.

This place takes special to an entirely different level. Not only are they known for their infamous martinis, but their ingredients are so fresh you’d swear they grew them on the roof. Actually… they do! The honey in the Bees Knees #2 cocktail is made with freshly collected honey collected from their rooftop bees. Combine that with a piece, or a flight of chocolates (from their chocolate menu) and you’ll never have to leave!

This may be the newest cocktail bar in Whistler, but it’s certainly turning heads (and quickly!) Their menu isn’t as extensive as some of the others we’ve mentioned, but it reminds you of the motto; you can do lots of things okay or do a handful of things great. Simply made, with all the usual spirit lineups, it will be hard not to take a photo of your drink before you indulge in it!

Sipping classic cocktails with a modern twist lakeside is high on our weekend list – and this place does not disappoint. With each cocktail specifically designed to follow a set theme of the season, it gives you plenty of reasons to keep returning without tiring of their menu. Some of the ingredients that caught our attention are their fresh rhubarb simple syrup and their turmeric-infused double oak bourbon. Join them for their two daily happy hours (2-4PM and 9-10PM).
