Arriving in 1992 after completing her commerce degree, Marika embraced the resort lifestyle with her usual enthusiasm for life and adventure. This was the first year Whistler was named the #1 Ski Resort in North America and the community was committed to careful and strategic planning for the development of the resort. Marika contributed to this process, holding positions with the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s Advisory Planning Commission, the Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission, the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association and was involved in the initiation of Whistler’s Farmers Market. Prior to joining The Whistler Real Estate Company in 2002, Marika owned and operated a successful event management and promotions business. Her entrepreneurial spirit, marketing expertise and negotiating skill are fundamental to her success in real estate. Marika is consistently ranked as one of Whistler’s Top 5 Realtors, and the recipient of the Greater Vancouver Regional District’s Medallion Club Award and her company’s Diamond Award of Excellence. Because of her broader interest in the integrity of the overall industry, she has also sat on the board of the Real Estate Association of Whistler for several years.
