Valentine’s Day in Whistler is a magical time. There are endless possibilities to fall in love, be pampered or enjoy quality time while discovering the Village’s many hidden corners. Whether you’re spending the day, weekend or just a few hours, here are some things to consider adding into your Valentine’s Day plans.
With so much local talent in the sea to sky region, visiting one (or several) local art galleries is one way to spend the day. Grab yourself a latte and wander through the Village as you take in the local art and displays, many of them free. Discover more about your partner as you learn each other’s likes and dislikes in painting, sculptures, and displays. For a full list of art galleries in Whistler, please go here.
There are several adventures you can take part in as a couple all within Whistler’s boundaries. However, a snowmobile ride for two, with a hot chocolate stop at a secluded cabin tucked in the snowy peaks is a memorable place to start. With several companies in town, you can go first thing in the morning, fit one in after a day of skiing or combine your dinner plans with this adventure.
Get whisked away into the snowy mountains from man’s best friend this Valentine’s Day. A dog sled tour is anywhere from 2-2.5 hours in length and not only allows you to try your hand at mushing, but also allows you to soak in some much-needed dog love (and maybe even puppy love too!).
Create a memorable experience as you slide across the snow on a metal bottom runner while you sit comfortably with warm blankets. This magical experience is best enjoyed at dusk or in the evening so you can enjoy a nice crackling fire while you enjoy your hot cocoa.
Nothing says love, like giving yourself (and your partner) the gift of self-love. Book yourself a couple’s massage at one of the various places in town, or how about a spa treatment for two at one of the many high-end hotels. Awarded Top Destination Spa of 2019, Nita Lake Lodge’s spa is now fully licensed so you can enjoy a sip of bubbly while getting some services done.
Fancy a more interactive experience? Scandinave Spa is a great place for those looking to spend quality time enjoying hot and cold baths, saunas, steam rooms and more.
A large part of Valentine’s Day is indulging in the finer things in life. Luckily, Whistler has no shortage of award-winning restaurants and bars to help you do just that. With a place to satisfy any kind of craving you may have book, yourself in for a five-star meal, or enjoy apres hour at the base of the mountain taking in the sights with a drink. Many restaurants offer special menus or deals on Valentine’s Day, so look around and find the best one that suits you! Be sure to plan ahead, as many places can require reservations.
Whether you are spending the day with a special someone or getting together with friends and family, we hope you have a magical day.
