Whistler in September: A month of events

September 8, 2016
River of Dreams

Whistler is known for its winters and summers, with world renowned skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking, and a huge number of year-round events.

But, as summer fades away the village enters what is fondly known as ‘Shoulder Season’, starting around September going until the mountain opens in November.

This is the time without the crowds, as the locals take a collective breath. Many choose this time to take their vacations or take advantage of the plethora of shoulder season deals offered by restaurants and businesses.

However, despite the supposed quietness of this period, there is actually a lot still going on in Whistler, no better summed up by the sheer number of events that take place in September! Here’s what’s going on:

ArtWalk

ArtWalk has now been moved to later in the year, taking place from September 1 – November 30.

The festival sees work from the best local artists’ displayed in businesses in the form of pop-up galleries with everyone encouraged to take part by taking the art tour of the village. Our office is proud to be one of these locations.
