Meet Our Agent: Kathleen Orr

  • What drew you to real estate?
What drew me to real estate was the opportunity to connect with people and build meaningful relationships, something I’ve valued throughout my career in strategic partnerships. In Whistler, I get to combine this with my passion for architecture and design, guiding clients as they find their dream mountain home or maximize their investment. Every property here has its own unique story, blending community, adventure, and comfort, and I love highlighting these qualities for buyers and sellers alike. Whether it’s a ski-in, ski-out condo or a home nestled in the woods, I bring dedication to detail and a vision for quality to every transaction.
  • What is your favourite part about being a realtor?
It’s incredibly rewarding helping clients discover their dream properties here in the mountains and building long-lasting relationships. Seeing the excitement on their faces when they find “the one” is the best part of my job.
  • What are your favourite activities in Whistler/ Pemberton?
Whistler has so much to offer year-round, and some of my favourite moments here blend adventure and sharing the day with friends and family. In winter, there’s nothing like a day on the slopes, followed by après-ski drinks with pals reliving the days’ highlights. And when summer arrives, I love paddle boarding on the lakes and relaxing on the beach, then gathering for a casual après on a sunny patio. Whistler’s unique balance of outdoor fun and cozy connections is what makes it feel like home, and it’s a joy to help clients find their place in this incredible lifestyle. Après seems to be a theme!
  • Where’s your favourite place to eat out?
Whistler has so many incredible dining choices that it’s hard to pick a favourite! For sushi, I love different things about Nagomi, Sushi Village, and Sachi Sushi—but Sachi’s House Roll definitely stands out. On days like today, with the season’s first snow falling, nothing’s cozier then grabbing a seat at the bar at Il Caminetto, savouring their perfect minestrone with a good glass of red. Let the Parmigiano Reggiano fall heavier than the snowflakes!
  • What are your key highlights of your career?
One of the highlights has been working with clients who have become friends, referring me to their friends. I’m also proud of helping first-time buyers navigate the market, especially in such a unique area like Whistler.
  • What do you think are the most important qualities of a realtor?
Trustworthiness, local expertise, and a dedication to truly understanding the client’s needs. In Whistler, knowledge of the area and a strong network are essential in securing the right home or investment property.
  • Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about you.
Here’s a fun fact: my old house I helped build, and took a large role in designing, starred on Love It or List It! The buyers fell in love with the place—so much so that they chose to buy it!
  • In one sentence, why should people live here?
Whistler packs the most adventure, delicious food and wine, awesome people, spirit and fun per square kilometer!

What is your biggest accomplishment outside of real estate?
Hands down, it’s hearing unsolicited feedback that our daughter is not only kind but also stands up for herself and others. Raising a good human in the best place on earth, Whistler, is both an honour and my most important responsibility. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing you’re helping to shape someone who makes the world a little better. I sure don’t get it right everyday, but its wonderful to hear if you’ve had a good one.
