A: I moved to Whistler to have a break from school for a few months in January 1982 and I’ve been here ever since!
I’m originally from Montreal, but moved to Vancouver when I was 13. We were a big ski family so regularly came to Whistler.
A: The day I arrived I was supposed to start work at The Keg, but it burnt down the night before! Everyone dispersed and started looking for jobs and I managed to get a job at the deli, before working in restaurants.
I was then part of the original staff at the North Shore Credit Union before getting into real estate in 1986. My mom was a Realtor and said I should try real estate so I did the course and went from there!
A: I loved raising my family in a healthy environment where they were outdoors and doing sports all the time.
A: At first there were no resources at all! They went to ski school and that was about it, until eventually more and more resources were added. We got the pool, then we got the high school the year before my eldest went to high school.
A: I would say that it’s important to know what you want to use the property for, but also be flexible when it comes to neighbourhoods or property types because you might be surprised.
A: The best part is when you’re out showing properties! I love Whistler so I love taking people round and telling them little stories and facts. Introducing people to Whistler is just so much fun.
A: I like all the seasons. When I first got here winter was the best, but as time passes all of a sudden summer is looking good. But I also love the fall with the anticipation of the ski season. And spring is great because I just took up golf!
A: My family!
A: I love when the family is gathering and we go out and have a great day together – hiking or skiing. Then we make a big dinner and just enjoy each other’s company!
A: In my career, I would say that the fact I have been doing this for almost 32 years and I still love it! And in my life, it’s my family!
A: People should come to live in Whistler for the lifestyle – but more than that, for the love of life.
