Q: Why did you move to Whistler?
A: I moved to Whistler from Toronto for the snowboarding in 1993!
Q: What made you stay?
A: The west is the best! – The lifestyle, the climate, the people, the small town feel. Being from a big city it’s just so different and I knew I was home.
Q: When did you get into real estate?
A: I got into real estate 14 years ago. I’d previously been working in The Longhorn and was always told that I was great at sales. I had a lot of job offers in North America but I wanted to stay in Whistler and a move into real estate seemed like a great option.
Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to buy in Whistler?
A: Start early. You should give yourself as much time to prepare and become familiar with the Whistler market as possible.
Q: What’s your favourite thing about working with your clients?
A: I’m a people person so I just love meeting and helping people! Helping people is in my blood!
Q: What do you think you would be if you weren’t a Realtor?
A: When I first moved here there weren’t many female snowboarders and I was one of the boys. Everyone was pushing me to become a professional snowboarder, so I would have to say that!
Q: How would you spend your ideal day in Whistler?
A: I don’t know if you can print that! [laughs]. I would have to say either on the lake in summer, or on the mountain on a bluebird day in Whistler with my family.
Q: What was it like raising a family in Whistler?
A: It’s great. So different from being raised in the city. Everything is at your fingertips and I don’t think my children realise just how great they have it. We live for the great outdoors and Whistler is the perfect place for that.
Q: What makes you smile the most?
A: My husband and my kids! I’ve been with my husband since I was 17 – he’s the one for me!
Q: What accomplishment do you consider to be the most significant in your life?
A: Having my children.
Q: Finally, in one sentence, why should people come to live here?
A: For the lifestyle!
