Whistler Realtor Q&A – Lance Lundy

Lance Lundy

Why did you move to whistler?

I’m originally from Kelowna, but I was a golf professional at the time in Southern California when I decided to move to Whistler. Big Sky Golf and Country Club opened and I brought my golf schools there and was their head instructor.

When did you get into Real Estate?

I got into real estate 36 years ago, before becoming a golf professional for a number of years, then got back into the real estate business 15 years ago here in Whistler.

What do you enjoy about the lifestyle here?

It’s very relaxed. Whistler is a small community but is very vibrant and healthy with incredibly positive minded people.

What advice would you give to someone looking to buy a property in Whistler?

I would tell them to review their lifestyle requirements and if Whistler and the surrounding area fit with that then there’s no better place in the world to be.

What’s the most important advice for sellers?

It’s important to be very realistic and knowledgeable about what’s going on in the market. You must also be clear in your own mind about what your expectations are about selling your property.

Favourite thing about working with buyers and sellers?

Always the people. Helping them find the ideal home for themselves and their families, along with helping those who want to sell, whether they’re leaving the area or moving up or down in the market.

I look at our job as being here to assist people with the knowledge we have and expertise.

What’s your favourite season here and why?

They’re all pretty special because there is always something to do in each one. For me, I love winter, but golf is a summer sport and that’s my sport so I would have to say summer.

What makes you smile the most?

Just watching people walk into their new homes and realize that they’re actually going to be a part of Whistler.

How do you decompress?

I spend a lot of time with my golden retriever, I go for walks and hikes and just being with him is my decompression.

What is Whistler like for families?

There’s no better place than Whistler and Pemberton to raise a family. I travel extensively throughout the year and there’s nothing better than coming home.

What do you consider to be the biggest accomplishment in your life or career?

I would have to say my children.

Finally, in one sentence, why should people come to live in Whistler?

Because they have realised how important their lifestyle is and how short life is, so they might as well enjoy it!
