I moved to Whistler in 1993 from Prince George and started work in real estate right away. I was a nurse before and completed my realtor licence so I could start as an agent as soon as I moved.
My husband was the coach for the Men’s Canadian Alpine Ski Team so as a family we were here quite a bit with racing. My children also took part in racing a lot so they knew the area.
I really liked it here so made the decision to put my house on the market in Prince George and move to Whistler.
My daughter was already here with ski racing, but after I moved all of my four children came too. They all still live here, along with my 10 grandchildren!
I really love the fact it feels like you’re on holiday all the time. It’s magical, it’s fun and there’s always something going on. When you walk out of your front door you can do anything – you can ski, you can bike, golf or kayak, and all within five minutes of your house.
For buying it would generally depend what they were looking for, but it is always important to find the right Realtor. Someone they are comfortable with and will help them find the right property and understand their needs.
As a seller you need a Realtor that knows the market well, has good marketing skills, and is forefront in the real estate community. Your Realtor needs to be able to price your house right, to sell for top dollar, with the least amount of stress to the seller.
Making them happy. Whether it’s buyers or sellers, making them happy makes me happy.
They’re all memorable to me. Each client I help find their dream property or sell their home really does stick with me because we helped them and made them happy.
I did come here for the skiing, but I really love summer, Whistler is just fabulous in the summer time, not to mention the fall with all the beautiful bright coloured leaves.
If I wasn’t a realtor in Whistler, I would probably be working in the Medical Profession .
I would have to say my 10 grandchildren. Spending time with them , going to watch or help with their sports activities.
At the end of the day I decompress with a nice glass of chardonnay!
I feel like I have accomplished everything I set out to do in my life, but I would have to say moving to Whistler and being able to enjoy a successful career here was the most significant.
Whistler is a great community and it is a fantastic place to live because of the community spirit, lifestyle, and the fact that everyone here truly is happy.
